Sari Rose, Director


Sari Rose was hired in October 2015 as the first Director of the GUSAFoundation. She has extensive work in coaching education, positive youth development and mentoring. For the past seven years, she has been involved in community outreach in Greensboro, NC through her work with Dr. Tom Martinek at UNC Greensboro. The programs at UNCG focused on training high school students to run after school sports programs for underserved youth.  During that time, Sari was also the Assistant Technical Director of Coaching Education and Player Development for North Carolina Youth Soccer Association. Her responsibilities included assisting with all facets of coaching education and the NC Olympic Development Program.  While at NCYSA she helped to create a "coach in training" program that assisted college soccer players in obtaining their E and D licenses.

Prior to her time at NCYSA, Sari was a recruiting coordinator and goalkeeper coach for seven years. She assisted at UNC Charlotte, Rutgers University and Butler University. Her second year at Charlotte, the recruiting class was named to the Top 20 in the nation and those players earned back to back NCAA tournament bids.  She also was very involved in the Olympic Development Programs in Indiana, New Jersey, and North Carolina, as well as working with Region II, Region I and Region III as a goalkeeper coach.   

Sari has served on the board of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and as the chair of the Girls' Youth Coaches Group.  She has done three tours with the US State Department as a sports ambassador running clinics and workshops in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jerusalem and Palestine.  Currently, she also works with the US Soccer Foundation as a member of their National Training Team.
